When you start your self love journey, the people in your life will change. The people that are yours right now, won’t be yours forever.
Long-term friendships and relationships are a treasure, FOR REAL! It is so special to have a bond with someone and to have them in your life longterm. You can build really strong connections with people over time, and you find people who feel right to be around. BUT! This isn’t (and doesn’t have to be!) the reality for every person you have in your life.
You are ever-changing and ever-evolving.
As you change, as you develop as a person, as you heal, as you put yourself first, as your interests and priorities and values change – SO WILL YOUR PEOPLE. NATURALLY.
The people you surround yourself with influence who YOU are. As you grow and become a new (and better!) version of yourself, the people you once called your “ride-or-dies” may not come along with you. This has nothing to do with you.
It will probably sting, make you uncomfortable and hurt. Change sucks, and it’s hard.
As you grow grieving the losses of your past life, past friendships, and past YOU is healthy.
You love these people, and you probably always will. There is a reason they are YOUR people. But as you welcome in new energy, and you welcome your higher self, you will be taken care of. These changes are necessary for your growth journey. Grieve your previous people, and send them love.
But always remember who has to come first in your life – YOU.
And remind yourself of this truth often: your people don’t have to be yours forever.
