Let’s talk about the truth behind your flaws.

Having flaws is part of what makes us human. That’s probably something you’ve heard a million times before, but let’s break it down a bit.

Why does it hurt when we think about ourselves having flaws?

It’s probably because it implies that there is something wrong with us, that we are SUPPOSED to be a certain way, but we aren’t. Here’s the thing, there are no blueprints for being human. It’s pretty freeing to think about. We are all unique in the way we look, talk, act, think, and believe. And that’s fucking incredible!

We’re often taught that we have to live up to certain standards. Each person develops their own sense of perfection, and when we fall short of that we can start to feel down on ourselves. Sometimes it starts to feel like we are not worthy because of these perceived flaws, or as if we are a disappointment.

BUT! I want you to shift your perspective.

This is LITERALLY what makes us human. IT’S TIME TO OWN IT. Let the opinions and standards others have slip away. Listen to YOURSELF. Trust YOURSELF. You are EXACTLY where you need to be. Those “flaws” that you so quickly point out in yourself are actually evidence of your beautiful humanity.

There is no rulebook, no standard, no certain way to be. There is only you and your own unique, incredibly worthy, beautiful humanity.

One of my greatest privileges as a Virginia boudoir photographer is seeing the deep humanity of so many clients I get to photograph. The truth behind your flaws is that they are some of the most beautiful parts of who you are, and I can’t wait to help you celebrate some of yours.
