Before the vow renewal

I love how my client relationships blossom into friendships. Samantha and I love all things witchy- so when I first starting working with her a few years ago we became fast friends! I was honored when she asked me to photograph her vow renewal. Before the ceremony, we did a surprise boudoir shoot and it was perfect. The whole day was fun, stress-free, and flowed seamlessly.

Word-of-mouth weddings

Before 2020, I used to do big-ass weddings with hundreds of guests and 8+ hours of coverage. I was burnt out- so when COVID put the wedding industry on ice, I migrated to boudoir and closed down the Hannah Louise Photography side of my business… But my love for weddings hasn’t changed! I still love doing them through word-of-mouth references and for my former clients.

Weddings without the burnout

I love that I can still do weddings without burning myself out. I get to capture the most beautiful elopements/weddings/vow renewals with people I genuinely love and adore! This intimate way of shooting weddings feels so aligned with Enlighten By Hannah- I’m doing a wedding for another client-turned-friend in Barbados next year and I can’t wait!

The vow renewal ceremony

Samantha and Jay did the most beautiful Pagan handfasting ceremony and exchanged vows surrounded by their closest family and friends. The officiant was their good friend Casey, which added to the intimacy of the moment. When they were married over ten years ago, they didn’t have a ceremony. So this was the culmination of years of love; and a celebration of their union that they were able to share with the people they love most. It was truly something special.

Samatha chose the green satin dress as an old Hollywood glam vibe, and the ceremony was in the courtyard of the Athenaeum Art Gallery in Old Town Alexandria. After the ceremony, we wandered through the art galleries and walked to dinner. It was the definition of laid back and stress-free, and the day was full of love and laughter. 🤍
