Underestimating the power of simplicity is easy. I am reminding myself of this all the time. That’s why it’s important to add simple self care into your routine. Spa days and being pampered are my favorite. But, if self care is only reserved for splurging. What can be done about the rest of the time?
Practical & simple self care is becoming more and more relevant. A lot is happening in the world right now. I know that my priorities are shifting and this is normal with our circumstances. A bubble bath or steamy shower is a great way to start implementing simple self care. However, leaning only on the baths won’t cut it. It always boils down to the little things.
Ask yourself these questions and build your own routine.
– How can I take care of myself?
– What makes me energized?
– How can I help myself feel inspired and excited?
– Journal your thoughts. Consider the following categories: physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally, etc.
Get familiar with the things that make you feel cared for and fulfilled and happy. Take care of yourself, you deserve it.
After you’ve brainstormed a list of some simple ideas, you can start to implement them one by one. The hard part about self care is that it does require boundaries and prioritization.
Simple self care doesn’t sound sexy. Regardless of the way it sounds, it really is. Find simple ways to take care of yourself. Discover what helps your cup feel filled. Being happy is the sexiest! It radiates out into the world and encourages others to do the same. Don’t underestimate the power of simple self care.
Use these ideas for inspiration:
– Go for a walk and get some fresh air
– Plan for some extra sleep
– Tell a loved one you’re thinking about them
– Have a dance party to your favorite song
– Plan an hour or two out of the house and join one of our RVA Moon Circles
– Read a chapter in a book that makes you happy
– Journal how your day went
