Sarah came in for a self-love session to celebrate her 30th birthday and we had a TIME! It’s so exciting to see clients come in ready to invest in themselves. Sarah had such great energy throughout the session and was open to my creativity of using the backdrop for some of her photos! As always, Kirsty our HMUA did such an incredible job with Sarah’s hair and makeup that stayed fresh the entirety of this birthday self-love session.

This session was so much fun to shoot! We started off in some comfy Calvins from my client closet to show Sarah’s more relaxed side. We moved our way into a corset body suit that I think was perfect against our cream backdrop. The combination of the backdrop and the black bodysuit makes Sarah’s hair and skin pop so well, very goddess-like! I was so impressed with her natural ability in front of the camera, and loved that she felt safe to come celebrate her birthday in this space.

Sarah isn’t the first person to come in for a birthday session, and she definitely won’t be the last. A birthday self-love session can be such a memorable way to mark the occasion, no matter what age you’re turning! What made you choose us for your session? 🙂

I wanted to do this session for my 30th birthday! I’ve loved your Instagram posts – both examples of your photography and the way you push encouragement and self-love out into the world.

What were you the most nervous about coming into your session?

I was most nervous about not loving the way I looked in photos or being stiff in front of the camera.

How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

I feel like I learned so much about myself and what I’m still insecure about and what areas I can continue to grow in and I absolutely loved my photos so I feel so thankful to have been captured in a soft, beautiful way as well.

What was your favorite part of the session?

Hannah leading me in a guided meditation/breathing exercise at the beginning really helped clear my mind and then her and Bethany’s energy and hype made it so much fun!

Do you have any advice for people looking to book their own session?

Absolutely, 100% do it, lean in, embrace it, trust the process. Take pictures of yourself that might make you uncomfortable, but sit with them. Find something you like about all of them.
