When Justine reached out to me to book her second session, I was so ecstatic. I love shooting with her! But she made it even better when she said, “…think Fairy Vibes and Shibari…” UM YES PLEASE. I loved bringing all the creative energy to her Self Love Session to create these images with her.
After chatting about the overall vibe for the photos, we got to work creating the outdoor boudoir session of her dreams. We decided we simply had to shoot in nature, in the golden hour light. We met up right before sunset, and she brought a few lingerie choices to complete the look.
She wore a lavender lace lingerie set with a sheer white shirt over, creating lots of flowy movement to catch the light. We also did a lot of images with just the matching bra & thong set. I loved the delicate feel of the lingerie because it perfectly complimented the nature backdrop.
After that, we used ropes to bring in her Shibari vision and pull more texture in to the images. She absolutely killed it, and I love the images we captured with shibari.
The last look was a vintage-looking white nightgown, which she wore into the water. Make sure you scroll to the bottom to see it! It was perfect water fairy vibes! (If you’re feeling inspired, you can get a similar one here.)
Since Justine had already had a session, she knew what to expect as far as posing & the shoot flow, but I try to approach every session as totally new. I have go-to poses, but I adapt for each person in front of my camera. It’s important to me to stay present and actively create with the person in front of me. For this intimate portrait session, we went with lots of creative poses and foreground texture, while playing with light flares throughout. (My fave!) This all helped me capture those fairy vibes and truly capture her the way she wanted to see herself.
Justine left me a review from this session:
“Thank you for helping me create my fairy dreams in this shoot and helping me love my body even more <3 she’s hella worth it guys!!”
