If you’re a part of my newsletter, you already know I have beef with the boudoir industry…

But if you haven’t read my thoughts about it yet, this is for you.

My big issue with boudoir as we know it is based on how to be attractive to men. The traditional boudoir photoshoot includes posing at “just the right angle” and sucking in your belly while you arch your back. There’s loud music to hype you up and champagne to bring your focus away from your body and “loosen up.”  You’re meant to forget your insecurities in the position of objectification.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with this. It’s your body and it should be celebrated however you feel best. But this idea of bringing your attention away from your body isn’t going to change the way you feel about yourself long-term. The champagne will take you out of your body instead of welcoming you home to it and the loud hype music will shift your focus from the present and makes you ignore what you’re feeling.

But a photoshoot isn’t what you need to start loving yourself.

I wanted to challenge the standard boudoir experience and turn it into something that brings your attention back to yourself.  So I created the Self-Love Nature Sessions; a more-than-the-moment experience that isn’t like the boudoir shoots you’re used to seeing…

The experience starts long before you get in front of the camera. We’ll meet over Zoom for three calls leading up to your session, where you become more in touch with your mind and body so you’re comfortable on the day of. The day of your session, we’ll take some time so you can set your intentions and journal about how you’re feeling right before your shoot. We prioritize inner peace and check-ins throughout our time together to make sure you’re still comfortable. But at its core, Self-Love Nature Sessions are about connecting with nature and taking moments to breathe deeply and release self-doubt.

It’s a grand gesture and the awakening of self-love.

We do these sessions in nature because nature is perfect. You belong in that setting because you are perfect in your nature, too.  The proof will be undeniably all around you, and you’ll become part of it. 🤎
